Menstrual Hygiene Day 2025: Empowering Women Through Awareness in Ranchi

On the occasion of Menstrual Hygiene Day 2025, Jan Sahbhagi Vikas Kendra organized a meaningful and impactful awareness program in the localities of Madhukam and Kamde in Ranchi’s Salam area. The event was a step toward building awareness, breaking taboos, and empowering women and adolescent girls with the knowledge and confidence they need to manage menstruation with dignity and care. The program brought together women from the community to learn about various aspects of menstrual hygiene — from understanding the biological process to maintaining cleanliness and using sanitary products safely. Practical tips were shared on how to deal with menstruation in a healthy way, while also addressing the emotional and social challenges women often face due to prevailing myths and stigmas. What made the event truly special was the active and enthusiastic participation of the women. They engaged in open conversations, asked questions, and shared their own experiences. Many expressed how such awareness had never reached them before, and they felt empowered to not only take care of themselves but also educate the young girls in their families. The awareness campaign emphasized a simple yet powerful truth — menstrual hygiene is not a luxury, but a basic right. When women are informed and supported, they become confident change-makers in their communities. As a result, this initiative helped to create a ripple effect of awareness, breaking generational silence around menstruation. In a society where menstruation is still considered a taboo subject, programs like these play a crucial role in changing mindsets and building a more informed, healthy, and equitable future. It reminded us once again that healthy women are the foundation of a strong society.

Programs

Farmers Awareness Program

Our NGO actively supports farmers in Jharkhand by creating awareness and providing practical farming guidelines. We conduct training programs on modern agricultural practices, crop management, and sustainable methods. Farmers receive step-by-step guidance on improving soil health, using organic fertilizers, and adopting climate-resilient techniques. These efforts help enhance productivity and reduce dependency on traditional methods. By empowering farmers with knowledge and support, we promote self-reliance and sustainable agriculture in rural communities.
